Critical Acclaim for “Literature for Teaching: A Guide for Choosing Solo Vocal Repertoire from a Developmental Perspective"

"Teachers looking to thoroughly expand and organize their own libraries of repertoire will likely find the first part of the book to be most useful, while those searching for some quick ideas may prefer the second. Each is well organized and easy to read."

"Whether one uses Literature for Teaching as a quick reference or as a framework for overhauling an approach to categorizing and selecting repertoire, the book has something to offer nearly every voice teacher."

Critical Acclaim for “Solo Vocal Repertoire for Singers and Teachers of Singers"

"Collections of repertoire are widely available, but these volumes distinguish themselves in two ways. First, many of the pieces are lesser known works by well known composers that infrequently appear in compendiums. (For instance, none of the twenty-eight Italian songs and arias presented in standard collections are included.) Secondly, pedagogic guidance accompanies each selection. The authors offer exercises based upon passages from the piece; equally as important, they explain the purpose of each vocalise and how it should be executed."

"The authors have chosen interesting repertoire, and they offer guidance to both teachers and students in effectively using the selections to advance vocal technique. The breadth of pedagogic materials offered in each of these volumes is commendable, and the price is reasonable and further decreased if the volumes are purchased as a set. Voice pedagogues and their students should consider adding these anthologies to their library."

Critical Acclaim for “Literature for Teaching: A Guide for Choosing Solo Vocal Repertoire from a Developmental Perspective"

"The purpose of the book is to provide guidance in the analysis and selection of repertoire for students of all ages and abilities. This volume is recommended as a text for voice pedagogy classes, and as a reference for teachers of all levels of experience. Whether or not the reader adopts a structured approach to cataloguing repertoire, the book will undoubtedly tweak even the most seasoned pedagogue’s approach to choosing vocal literature."
